Hourly Rate

Hourly research rate is $30/hour. Clients use the flexible hourly rate to choose as much research time as they desire. For example, choose five hours worth of research and then decide whether you want to continue with further research.

The basic package includes a review of materials the client has put together doing their own family research. I will read your materials and offer a written opinion about what you've discovered 

and offer an opinion on the direction of your research.

Typical Hours Spent: 2-3 hours, plus costs for preparing and providing any written materials.

Typical Price: $60 to $90

This package includes the activities in the review package above. It includes helping the client put together a research plan. This package also includes creating a list of resources for the client to seek out, addresses for archival resources, and suggestions for how to best approach the client’s family history project.

In addition, this basic research package includes:

• Initial research of the resources available

• An analysis and a report to the client

• Specific suggestions for further research

Typical Hours Spent: 6-8 hours

Typical Price: $180 to $240, plus expenses

This package includes all of the activities in the previous packages. It offers more research time, as well as the creation of a simple pedigree or timeline for the client’s ancestors’ lives. Also provided is a more detailed analysis and report about the research findings. Please note that there is more emphasis spent on additional time spent on research in order to find out more about the client’s ancestors.

Typical Hours Spent: 20

Typical Price: $600, plus expenses

There will be additional charges for any expenses incurred (such as travel expenses or having to pay for access to specially archived materials) above and beyond what’s included in the package price.
